End your season on a high note...
Designed to cap off your season in a constructive and positive way, the Centennial Marching Festival presents an outstanding competitive opportunity for bands of all sizes. Our experienced panel of adjudicators will provide detailed, practical and useful feedback designed to assist your program in a retrospective assessment of your marching season. This new and exciting contest venue will offer an exciting alternative for “end of season” marching band competition in the DFW Metroplex.
Outstanding location...
Conveniently located in the north central part of the DFW Metroplex, the Centennial Marching Festival is easily accessible by all North and Central Texas schools in addition to serving as a convenient alternative for bands in the southern Oklahoma area. FISD Memorial Stadium is well suited for this event. Recent major renovations in 2001 and 2004 include a state-of-the-art press box and the latest in artificial turf. There’s ample seating and parking in addition to a full concession stand that is available throughout the event.
Rewarding excellence....
The Centennial Marching Festival is a prelims/finals style event that utilizes a caption based scoring system. As a participant you will receive specific comments in each of the caption areas: marching, music, general effect, percussion, and color guard. Bands are divided into classification based on the number of marching winds. The top ten scoring bands in the preliminary competition (regardless of classification) will proceed to the evening’s finals competition. Any band which earns best in its respective class which does not place in the top ten will be given the opportunity to perform in exhibition before the start of the evening’s finals competition. Trophies will be awarded for:
- Best in Caption (prelims and finals)
- Best in Class for each division (prelims only)
- Finalist (10th through 2nd place)
- Grand Champion
