Directors

Tim Linley, Director of Bands

Mr. Linley has served the Centennial Band and Frisco ISD since Centennial High School's opening in 2003, first as Associate Director and currently as Director of Bands. As Director of Bands for the Centennial High School Cluster, Mr. Linley conducts the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and directs the CHS Titan Marching Band in addition to collaborating at Clark and Wester Middle Schools. Mr. Linley received his academic training at Baylor University in Waco, TX, receiving his Bachelors degree in Music Education. He is an avid student of conducting, having studied both domestically and abroad as a student of Michael Haithcock (University of Michigan), Timothy Reynish (Royal Northern Conservatory - UK), Kevin Sedatole (Baylor University/Michigan State University), and Jeffrey Grogan (Ithaca Conservatory). Mr. Linley's bands consistently earn superior ratings at Univeristy Interscholastic League Marching, Concert and Sight-reading contests. Under his direction in 2007, the CHS Wind Ensemble earned 2nd Place Runner Up at the Texas State Honor Band Contest. Likewise, the 2006 Wind Symphony was awarded best in class at the Alamo Music Festival. Mr. Linley also serves as the Region 24 Texas Band Masters Association Representitive. His professional affiliations include: the Texas Music Educators Assocation, Texas Band Masters Association, North American Saxophone Alliance, World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He resides in Frisco with his wife, Kristen.

Jackie Hartenberger, Associate Director of Bands

Ms. Hartenberger, a Saint Louis native, pursued her academic training at the University of North Texas, receiving her degree in Music Education. While at UNT she studied French Horn with Professor William Scharnberg (Principal Horn of the Dallas Opera) and performed in the UNT Wind Symphony. Prior to her appointment at Centennial, Ms. Hartenberger served as Associate Director of Bands at Forestwood Middle School in Flower Mound (Lewisville ISD). While at Forestwood, her bands consistently earned first division ratings; while under her direction in 2006, the FMS Concert Band was awarded sweepstakes at UIL as well as Best in Class at the Peak Music Festival. In 2007, the Centennial Symphonic/Concert bands earned the sweepstakes award at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest with straight first division ratings. The Symphonic Band was named best in class at the 2007 Southcoast Music Festival. As Associate Director of Bands, Ms. Hartenberger's duties include conducting the Symphonic Band and Concert Band as well as assisting with the Marching Band and Wind Ensemble.

Derrick Logozzo, Director of Percussion

Mr. Logozzo is an active performer, teacher, writer, contractor, and recording artist based in Dallas, TX. He performs regularly throughout the US on steel drums and percussion with his Caribbean Jazz Group, KALIMBE as well as with Venezuelan Latin jazz recording artis, Carlos Guedes. Mr. Logozzo also manages and performs in his jazz group, New Vibe, and world percussion group, DrumArt. He also maintains a steady classical percussion performance schedule as a percussionist with the Irving Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Logozzo has also served as feature percussionist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. (Read more about Derrick Logozzo in the Percussion Section)

Brian Greenleaf, Director of Color/Winterguard

Mr. Greenleaf has been active in Marching Band, Winter Guard, and Drum and Bugle Corps as a designer, technician, clinician and consultant since 1989. He joined the staff at Centennial High school in July 2005. He was previously the Color Guard director at Haltom High School and Union Public Schools in Tulsa , Oklahoma.

In addition to public school teaching, Mr. Greenleaf has instructed the Suncoast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, the Black Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, and has served as the caption head for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps.
