Scoring Information

The Centennial Marching Festival is an "open class" competition where all bands compete openly regardless of their classification. Each band will receive a score from all seven judges. Each judge's score will be weighted according to the following scale for their final composite score:

Music Judge #1: 25%
Music Judge #2: 25%
Total Music Weight: 50%

Marching Judges #1: 15%
Marching Judge #2: 15%
Total Marching Weight: 30%

General Effect Judge: 10%
Percussion Judge: 5%
Auxiliary Judge: 5%

The following awards will be presented in prelims:

Outstanding Winds
Outstanding Guard
Outstanding Percussion
Outstanding Drum Major
Oustanding Marching
Outstanding General Effect
Best in Class

 

 

The top ten scoring bands in the preliminary competition (regardless of classification) will proceed to the evening’s finals competition. Any band which earns best in its respective class which does not place in the top ten will be given the opportunity to perform in exhibition before the start of the evening’s finals competition.
