The Symphonic Band is scheduled during period 1A with its corresponding instrumental ensemble class meeting during 1B. This ensemble is the third of four ability based concert groups in the Centennial Band and performs upper level high school concert band literature. Students are expected to perform at the highest caliber. As a result, participation in the Symphonic Band requires significant dedication and practice. Students are required to attend sectionals and one-on-one sessions outside of school throughout the year.

Members are required to participate in the All-Region band selection process (Freshmen will participate in the Freshman Region Auditions) as well as the UIL solo/ensemble contest. Furthermore, members are strongly encouraged to get involved in our private lesson program. The Symphonic Band performs at most band department concerts and competes at several concert band festivals including UIL in the Spring.
