The Symphonic Winds class is scheduled during period 2A with its corresponding instrumental ensemble class meeting during 2B. This ensemble is the second of four ability based concert groups in the Centennial Band and performs upper level high school and early collegiate level concert band literature. Students are expected to perform at the highest caliber. As a result, participation in the Symphonic Winds is quite rigorous and requires significant practice. Students are required to attend sectionals and one-on-one sessions outside of school throughout the year.

Members are required to participate in the All-Region band selection process as well as the UIL solo/ensemble contest. Furthermore, members are strongly encouraged to get involved in our private lesson program. The Symphonic Winds perform at most band department concerts and competes at several concert band festivals including UIL in the Spring.
